New DSS Hurling Coach – Brendan Delaney

Today Deely Sport Science are delighted to announce our latest new sign-up to our coaching cohort as part of Deely Sport Science- Hurling Coach Brendan Delaney. Brendan is coming on board as a new Hurling Coach, to add to and continue the great work being done in the Hurling sphere for DSS by Barry Mullane.

This is another great step forward for our DSS Online Coaching and Sport Science company, as Brendan is a brilliant up and coming coach with a bright future ahead of him in the game, to add to what he has already achieved. Brendan’s work has been admired by some of the best in the business, and importantly for DSS, has specific and wide-ranging knowledge, experience, and expertise in Hurling coaching – which DSS is looking to continually grow and advance for their membership and community of practitioners.

CEO of Deely Sport Science (Ltd) Ciaran Deely said – “We are delighted to welcome such a talented and exciting new coach to the DSS ranks. I was really impressed by Brendan’s knowledge and the level of coaching content he can produce. Extremely relevant to all levels of coaches in the game. He can turn his hand to all GAA coaching and sport science areas, but we are especially excited to bring him on board for his Hurling expertise. Which we are passionate about growing and developing to cater for our ever-growing Hurling-following. DSS as a company has always attempted to be at the cutting-edge of coaching and performance since our inception. And to provide our members with information and resources from the best coaches and sport science staff available- from practitioners who have worked in the English Premier League; worked internationally across different sports; and to coaches who have operated at the highest levels in the GAA world. Brendan is another step along the way for us, as we get ready to migrate to a new platform and website, and seeks to enter into the coach education workshop and conference arena over the next 12 months. It’s an exciting time to be part of the DSS group of coaches, and Brendan only adds to that! So we are delighted to have him on board and am sure all our coaches will give him a warm welcome.”

His expertise will help to drive more great content in terms of:

  • Hurling practices
  • Kids camp resources
  • Webinars
  • Tactical analysis videos
  • Podcast discussions
  • WhatsApp members Q&A sessions
  • Session plans

A bit about Brendan:

‘My coaching journey began 13 years ago when I started getting involved in coaching in my local club Killeagh & Glenbower Rovers. I am currently still playing hurling and football along with my coaching exploits in the club and county.

I am currently working as a Games Development Coordinator and have a massive interest in Coach Education and our Talent Academy Squads. I am currently coaching our u14 Cork City Hurling and Football squads along with Cork City Celtic Challenge Hurling Squad.

I have worked with Leitrim GAA for 2 years as a Games Development Administrator and had a fantastic time there working with some excellent coaches and with the u15 and u16 Talent Academy Squads.

I spend some time travelling and worked in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi as a PE teacher for 3 years in what was an amazing experience.

On my travels I was lucky to play and coach GAA with Al Ain GAA in the Middle East and win senior county hurling and football medals in Leitirm with Carrick Hurling and St Mary’s Kiltoghert.’
